Twofour Digital launches MFAcquire Encoding Service

Building on the recent launch of the webTV platform MEDIAFREEDOM at IBC, Twofour Digital has added an expanded suite of acquisition products under the brand name MFAcquire.
Already accepting content via web upload and FTP; MEDIAFREEDOM can now accept live feeds from a variety of satellite or outside broadcast sources.
Twofour has invested in steerable and fixed antennae at its Plymouth studios; together with dedicated streaming encoders.
Additionally, MPEG4 contribution feeds from the growing range of IP-satellite uplink providers can now be received via Twofour’s Plymouth MCR where they are monitored and converted to SDI for recording and transcoding for immediate web delivery - a service that Number 10 Downing Street is already using for weekly live broadcasts.
To ensure the fullest coverage, Twofour has also partnered with Arqiva, to provide extra downlink and encoding capacity, as well as mobile uplinks.
Automatic or manual file capture, combined with Twofour’s Rhozet encoding farm, ensures that individual programmes can be rapidly converted into video on demand assets.
Twofour’s Head of Business Development, David Patton says “Online delivery is, without doubt, the fastest growing area of our business. MEDIAFREEDOM is a culmination of several years of work, and now, with the ability to ingest and stream live content as well as on-demand, we believe our platform is an excellent choice for existing and new media companies.”
Sanjay Agrawal, CFO of leading channels B4U Music and B4U Movies, adds “Twofour have proved themselves a trusted supplier to B4U. We are delighted to have chosen MFAcquire for our permanent live Flash streaming, available online at www.b4utvonline.com“
